A Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), or Life Plan Community, is a residential community for older adults (typically aged 62+) that provides a variety of living options, along with services, amenities and a continuum of care designed to address the changing needs of residents as they age. A CCRC, like Pleasant View, offers independent living, assisted living, short-term rehabilitation, memory support and skilled nursing on a single campus.

Lutheran Life Communities have been faithfully serving older adults by providing residential and healthcare options since 1892. We are a not-for-profit, mission-based organization and welcome people of all faiths, beliefs and traditions. Pleasant View is one of four communities in Indiana and Illinois.
Yes. We welcome your four-legged friends. Some restrictions apply.
Prior to admission, a professional clinical assessment by the Licensed Social Worker and Director of Nursing will be completed in your home or at Pleasant View to ensure successful daily living.

Care plans could include medication reminders, transportation, showering or bathing, dressing, escorts for activities and meals within Pleasant View, eating assistance, toileting and incontinence care, wake-up and turn-in assistance, overnight checks, injections and wound care.

MyTapestry Memory Support can benefit your family member and your family when you’re concerned with personal safety, anxiety, healthy eating, medication management and the increased rate of cognitive decline due to social isolation.
Our skilled nursing services are overseen by an experienced geriatric medical director and a highly qualified director of nursing. In addition, Pleasant View’s skilled care community maintains a strong staff-to-resident ratio and ensures that all team members receive the latest, high-quality and ongoing training.
Skilled nursing is the right choice for those who require attentive medical care, but don’t have the acute needs that make hospitalization necessary. It provides a higher level of care than assisted living, whether the need is for more hands-on assistance with routine activities, rehabilitation services or long-term care.
Family members are always welcome and encouraged to visit. And family time can focus on togetherness again instead of the challenges and concerns of full-time care giving.
Our short-term rehabilitation is available to Pleasant View residents, helping them reach their maximum function and ability, getting them back to their homes in our community as quickly as possible. Physical, occupational and speech therapists from Select Rehabilitation are part of the Pleasant View team, working together to develop individualized care plans.
Outpatient rehabilitation therapy, such as physical, occupational and speech therapy, is available on an appointment basis to the general public on-site at Pleasant View, in addition to being a convenient life-enriching service for our residents. Short-term rehabilitation at Pleasant View refers to therapy services available only to our residents when recovering from hospital stays, illness or injury.
Caring for a family member is a big responsibility. If you’re a caregiver, there are times when you need a break. Often families will postpone vacations and miss other family events for fear of leaving a loved one. Pleasant View offers respite stays across all levels of care and service—for a few days or a few weeks. Allowing you to rest, refresh and take care of you and your life.
