To help address these challenges, Lutheran Home recently introduced the new Dialysis Den, bringing on-site hemodialysis services directly to its Arlington Heights campus through a partnership with DaVita SNF Dialysis. The innovative program is designed to make dialysis more convenient, comfortable and accessible for residents and short-term rehabilitation guests.

Bringing Dialysis Closer to Home

For individuals receiving dialysis, treatment schedules can be demanding. Transportation arrangements, travel and time spent away from familiar surroundings can make recovery and daily life more difficult.

The Dialysis Den at Lutheran Home provides dialysis services in a familiar setting, allowing residents and rehabilitation guests to receive treatment without leaving campus. By eliminating the need for frequent travel to outside appointments, guests can focus more on their health, recovery and overall well-being.

For many families, having hemodialysis available onsite also provides added peace of mind. Knowing that treatment is available within the community helps simplify care coordination and reduces logistical concerns.
