What is a Life Plan Community or CCRC?
A Life Plan Community (also referred to as a Continuing Care Retirement Community or CCRC) is a residential community for older adults (typically age 62 and older) that provides a variety of housing options, along with services, amenities and a continuum of care designed to address the changing needs of residents as they age. The typical CCRC offers not only Independent Living options, but also Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing and Memory Support services on a single campus.

What are the advantages of choosing a CCRC?
A common quote from new residents is “we should have done this sooner.” Maintenance-free living provides many freedoms to pursue so much more of what brings joy to our days. From the strong community support of neighbors to the full calendar of activities, there is never a shortage of engaging things to do or people with whom to do them. CCRCs, like Wittenberg Village, give residents confidence in their plan for the future. They are making their own forward-thinking decisions, rather than leaving them in the hands of family for a later date. Residents are able to live in the same community if their needs change. This alleviates the stress of moving multiple times and maintains existing relationships in a familiar environment. Being on one campus also enables couples to remain close to each other if one person requires a higher level of care.

Lutheran Life Communities has been faithfully serving older adults by providing residential and healthcare options since 1892. Luther Oaks is one of five communities in Indiana, Illinois and Florida, and has a long-standing reputation for innovative service and person-centered care. What do you mean by “vibrant, grace-filled living?”
We believe that living vibrantly and gracefully means appreciating both the obvious and subtle blessings that fill each day. What services and amenities are part of my residence?
Residence options at Luther Oaks include a wide range of choices in size and floor plan, from a 1,344 square-foot two-bedroom / two-bath apartment to a 695-square-foot, one-bedroom apartment. No matter which option you choose, all residences are maintenance-free with utilities and bi-weekly housekeeping included.

Food is important, What can I expect?
Luther Oaks offers restaurant-style dining choices at every meal, a Fireside Lounge for socializing with friends and a private dining room for more intimate dining occasions. In addition, the outdoor patio provides a pleasant outdoor environment in which to enjoy your meal or a cup of coffee with friends.

What security measures are in place?
Luther Oaks provides 24-hour security. In addition, there is an emergency response system located in each residence.

What does Luther Oak’s location in Bloomington mean for me?
Luther Oaks location in Bloomington, Illinois means you will be part of an intergenerational community as you enjoy many of Luther Oak’s amenities and resources. Luther Oaks offers apartments with one and two bedrooms and choices that allow you customize your perfect home. Apartments feature spacious layouts in a wide range of sizes with one to two bedrooms. In addition, residents in apartments enjoy access to community amenities.

What levels of health care will be offered on campus? 
Luther Oaks offers private Assisted Living in one- and two-bedroom residences, Skilled Nursing in private suites arranged in a neighborhood setting and specialized Memory Care in private accommodations. In addition, rehabilitation services are provided to aid residents in a return to wellness following an injury, illness or surgery. Having all these levels of care available on campus enables couples to stay close to each other when one has a health care need. Having a plan at Luther Oaks provides priceless peace of mind to residents and their families.
